The Savannah Morning News had a good article this morning on Fort Stewart Forestry and the prescribed burns that they do during the Spring and Summer. There is radio traffic to monitor for the prescribed burns if you have digital and federal VHF capabilities with your radio. Much of the traffic from the forestry units on the ground is on TG 2480 of the Fort Stewart/Hunter AAF TRS. Traffic between the ground units and the helicopter that the article mentions is on 163.5625.

More on 164.625, Ware/Atkinson Fires
164.625 is part of either a multicast or linked conventional repeater system. 164.575 and 167.125 are both carrying the same traffic as 164.625, but they have longer squelch tails than 164.625. 164.625 uses a PL of 103.5.
The units on the system are using "directional" ID's along with IDing the repeater(s) as "Command Channel 2" (i.e. North Repeater, East Repeater). North Repeater, East Repeater, etc. probably refer to the individual repeaters within the system.

Ware/Atkinson County Fires Command Net
164.625 has been active with communications related to the fires in Ware and Atkinson Counties. Incident Command System related callsigns as well as BIG TURNAROUND ICP, divisions, and firefighting units have been heard. It is a repeater output and has been alternately identified as "Command Channel 2" and "North Repeater."

Fort Stewart Range Fires
Fort Stewart Forestry is working fires in the B12 and B13 areas of the Fort Stewart Ranges. Ground units are fighting the fire with a helicopter overhead (Helo 5TV) spotting the fires. Air to Ground from Helo 5TV is on 163.5625. Forestry ground units are on talkgroup 2480 (P25 Digital) of the Fort Stewart-Hunter AAF trunked system. Forestry is coordinating entry/exit of range areas and range activity on TG 2288 (P25 Digital) of the trunked system.
