I did something unique for me this evening on the radio. I made a 20 Meters DX contact to Cozumel using AM! I ran across XF3PAS calling CQ and knew that something sounded a little different, then he specified he was calling in AM. I switched the FT-897D over to AM mode and a couple of stations later he answered me.
I've only worked AM a couple of times just messing around on 6 Meters with some of the guys here in Savannah. This was my first serious attempt at doing anything with AM and my first DX contact on AM.
